4th of July - Hot air balloons/neighborhood party

We started celebrating the 4th of July at the balloon festival the day before. It has kind of evolved into a family tradition. The children, up bright and early with bells on..

Notice the swim suit. We just can't leave home without it! Even at 6am we must have the swim suit with us! (This topic just about deserves a post of its own!) Love this little lady. SO. DANG. MUCH.
As much as I want to claim Lola as my Momma's girl! Her heart is with her daddy. If he is around she is all about him. I guess I will have to settle for "best friends!"
Now this girl... Some days I don't know if I want to claim her.. but she is all mine! Messy hair and all...  :)
We met up with our favorite Conley Crew.. Woot Woot!
I love the freedoms we celebrate living in America. I love this balloon. It screams I love America! And I do!
 Oh Heaven help me!
 They are at it again.
Please tell me that they will outgrow this?
This guy.. well .. he is one sneaky dude some days.. after all he is {practically a man!} ha! He swiped his Aunt Lyss's shades.. and thought he was pretty cool!
The outing would not be complete without a quick stop for donuts at Krispy Kremes.
That evening.. our neighborhood had a big celebration. Love that. The girls decorated their bikes for the parade. The boys refer to the parade as a "bike race." Here is Jacq ready to go.
And Bugga. She did a last minute switch to the scooter. Happy day that it was already decorated for us.
 Love braids on little girls!
Jacq and cousins battling the sun in their eyes!
The boys were definitely too cool to decorate their bikes.. but not too cool to "race" in the parade and eat too many chips!
 Never too many for Alexander.
 Or Jacq.
Max got to help with the raising of the flag. Oh yeah!
Time for the parade. Max was first but I had to catch him on round 2. He was too fast. Here is Alexander.
 Barrett Boy!
Jacq. Let's not look too close! NO shoes!! eeek! What is she thinking?!?!
 Maxie boy!!
Love the tongue. She must be really concentrating.
Tay. Now that is a face. :)
We kept waiting for Lola.. No Lola. The route was a little long for her to do it solo. We meet up with a very grumpy Lola.
I thought she was heading to me..
 Nope. Happy with her Auntie.
The night went on and on. Games. Karaoke. Fireworks. A super late night for the Watsons. Well Happy Birthday to you America. It sure is great to be a part of the U.S.A!

Can we be neighbors again? Our "Irish twins" are much like the real ones you have on your hands. I think our kids would love each other and make both of us feel normal!
